Glaze – Buttery Vanilla Glaze

GLAZE - BUTTERY VANILLA GLAZE

INGREDIENTS

2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
3 to 4 tablespoons milk or heavy cream

INSTRUCTIONS

In medium bowl
SIFT powdered sugar.
ADD melted butter.
ADD milk or cream.
MIX in vanilla.
BEAT until smooth and creamy, adding more milk for desired consistency if necessary.
DRIZZLE over your bakery.
Use immediately before the icing starts to stiffen. If it hardens, add a little more of milk to loosen.

NOTES

  • Chocolate Glaze: Add 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted, or melted unsweetened chocolate.
  • Coffee Glaze: Substitute hot water for milk. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of instant coffee granules or crystals in the hot water.
  • Lemon Glaze: Substitute 2 tablespoons lemon juice for part of the milk and add 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel.
  • Maple Glaze: Add 1/2 teaspoon maple extract or flavor.
  • Orange Glaze: Substitute orange juice for milk and add 1 teaspoon grated orange peel.
  • Spice Glaze: Combine 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg with powdered sugar.
