INGREDIENTS
1 & ½ cup Flour
1 cup Butter, melted
2 cups White Sugar
4 Eggs
1/2 cup Cocoa
1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 cup Walnuts, roughly crushed or 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
METHOD
Preheat oven at 180 degrees.
Grease a 23 x 33 cm baking tray or use parchment paper to cover the bottom of the tray.
In an electric blender, combine the melted butter with sugar, cocoa, eggs, flour, baking powder, vanilla, and salt. Whisk until the mixture is well combined.
Add the roughly crushed walnuts, or the chocolate chips, (it will be tastier to add both ingredients).
Spread the mixture in the oven tray and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick is inserted and comes out clean with no crumbs and not wet.
Transfer the pan to a wire rack to cool. When cool, drizzle with caramel sauce, and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, if desired.
NOTE
When these brownies come out of the oven, they’ll be super gooey in the middle. allow them to cool completely, about 2 hours, before you slice into them to give them a chance to set up. they’ll continue to firm up the longer they’re out of the oven. if you still prefer a firmer brownie, store them in the fridge.
